This fabulous Art Nouveau style pendant or charm was made by Malcolm Gray, the founder of the celebrated Ortak silver jewellery company. It is made of sterling silver with enamel. It bears the maker’s mark .
This elegant pendant measures 15/16” (2.4cms). It weighs 4.6 grams.
The pierced design has the curving lines so typical of the Art Nouveau period. It is inlaid on one side with beautiful enamel in subtle shades of turquoise, silver and purple. The silver is very shiny , a contrast to the stippled surface of the enamel.
At the top is a ring and a bail.
The back has a textured finish . In a cartouche are the marks – ‘MG’ for Malcolm Gray, and ‘925’ for sterling silver .
The attractive piece is in excellent vintage condition. All the enamel is intact. It will arrive in a gift box.
