Fantastic and hard-to-find, a Virginia Metalcrafters large woven steel wire and brass fireplace fender. This piece is hand woven, with individual wires cut to length, bent to shape, and attached to a steel frame. After the wires are fastened into place, fine steel wire is used to secure individual wires to the frame, which is then bound to a solid brass rail topped with ball finials and sitting atop lion paw feet.

These fenders were available in 2 sizes, with this being the larger one. It measures 12 3/4" high x 48" wide x 13" deep at the sides. Condition is very very good, slight wear to the brass rail in one section which is hardly noticeable but mentioned for accuracy.
