Set a casual or "Farm" type table at any meal, in any season, with the lovely vintage dishes in this pattern / design! Serve up your favorite dish from this oval serving bowl.
This Poppy & Rose design was introduced by Homer Laughlin in the 1930's and continued in production through the mid-1950's. This pattern is perhaps one of the most popular Homer Laughlin designs beyond their Fiesta. Most of the pieces were made in the Kwaker shape.
In Excellent Condition, this serving bowl measures 6 3/4" x 9 1/4". The bright floral pattern remains sharp. There are occasional utensil marks that can best be seen when held at an angle to the light. No crazing, nicks, or chips are noted. The bowl carries the Homer Laughlin mark. The Homer Laughlin Company marked their dishes during this time with a number and letter code indicating the plant where they were manufactured and the year that piece was made. The marks on these bowl indicates it was made in 1954.
The design of Orange Poppies, Yellow Roses, and Black Leaves by Homer Laughlin is informally known as "Poppy & Rose" by most collectors, "Olivia" by others, and tagged as "Ivora" by some. You may wish to see other items in this pattern (being added within this shop) and create your own place settings. The last photo shows this bowl with a platter (available separately) for size perspective.
