These old dolls were made with love and have been enjoyed for more than 30 years. They are fashioned after the popular Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls which have been loved for decades. They have soft, stuffed cloth bodies, sewn at the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees giving them flexible arms and legs for positioning on a shelf, chair or bed. They have painted facial features and yarn hair. She has a quaint, blue gingham dress, white pantaloons and linen apron which ties in the back. A piece of coarse, jute-like twine is tied at the elbow and knees. There is elastic at the wrists and ankles but it has long ago lost its elasticity. He’s wearing a pair or blue linen overalls over a long sleeved shirt that is salmon colored with tiny pink hearts. Both of them have the printed, red and white striped “stockings” with black shoes. These were sold in kit form with some things pre-done and some sewing, stuffing and assembly required. On the salvage edge of her dress it reads; Authorized User Springs Industries. Although they are fashioned after Raggedy Ann & Andy they don’t have the trademarked mouth and therefore no licensing was required and they were probably marketed under names other than Ann & Andy. These were made in the mid 1980's.
They measure about 24” in length and fairly nice condition with light wear but they both have some soiling, most notably on her face. I have not laundered or tried cleaning them. As previously stated the elastic is completely worn out.
Priced and sold as the pair.
