Florida Highwaymen Second Generation Movement - RAY MCLENDON (Son of Original Highwaymen Roy McLendon)- "The Trees Of Florida" Signed Original Oil Painting - image 1 of 8

The original Florida Highwaymen were born during the 1950s and 60s. Their art has been recognized since the 1990s, when the original 26 Highwaymen became sought after artists.

Established in 1973, the "Second Generation Movement" began with "friends and family." A. J. Brown spearheaded the recognition of the Second Generation Movement. (A. J. is an exceptional Second Generation artist herself.)

I am so impressed with a number of the progeny of the Original Highwaymen. Ray McLendon is the son of legendary Original Florida Highwayman Roy McLendon. He is rapidly coming into his own. His artistic ability is being recognized and loved.
Certainly the second generation artists are an excellent addition to a Highwaymen's collection. I believe that this particular work is excellent, since the trees of Florida are almost always an integral part of Highwaymen Art. I believe the quality of this painting rivals much of what the Original Florida Highwaymen have produced. How wonderful to see a Second Generation artist who has inherited so much talent from his father!

This painting showcases the Poinciana, the Jacaranda and the Tabebuia, all native to Florida.
