For sale is 1 of 4 antique 19th century mortar and pestles in old, if not original paint, that I acquired at a sale in Pennsylvania. The mortar is painted red, and the inside appears to be lined with zinc. The pestle is unpainted. The mortar measures about 7" tall, and 4 1/2" in diameter, and the pestle is about 10" long, and 3" in diameter on the bottom. The set is in nice antique condition, with good signs of age and use, including a tight stable crack on the pestle, but no significant issues. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a terrific addition to your primitive décor!
